When I look back on childhood days,
I see a world of light and play,
Where laughter rang and joy abounded,
And dreams were ours to hold and own.
We ran and played through fields of green,
And climbed the trees so tall and lean;
We built our forts and made our plans, And never seemed to have a care.
The world was ours for the taking,
And all our days were filled with fun;
We didn't know of sorrow or of pain, And life was just a game to play.
But then the years went by so fast,
And childhood slipped away at last;
We grew up and lost our innocence,
And life became a little less.
But still, when I look back on childhood,
I smile and think of all the fun;
And I know that those were the best of days,
And I'll always cherish them in my heart.

Childhood
The days of childhood are too brief,
